Who you are dealing with

Gistly is operated by Ajay Singhadiya, a sole proprietor based in India. You can reach us at ajay@operateai.in. These terms cover your use of the Gistly app and the summaries it sends you.

What the service does

You share a YouTube link with Gistly. We read what is publicly available for that video, write a summary shaped around the answers you gave when you set up your account, email it to you, and keep a copy in the app so you can read it again.

What each plan includes

Free. 10 summaries and 5 hours of video each month, with a limit of 30 minutes for any single video. No payment details needed.

Gistly Pro. 100 summaries and 10 hours of video each month, with a limit of 3 hours for any single video. Available as a monthly or a yearly subscription.

Your allowance is counted in minutes of video as well as in number of summaries, because a long video costs us far more to summarize than a short one. A 10-minute video uses about 10 minutes of your allowance; a 2-hour video uses about 120. Whichever limit you reach first is the one that applies. Neither plan is unlimited, and we do not describe either as unlimited anywhere.

The exact numbers for your own account are always shown in the app, on the home screen and in Settings. Those are the numbers that apply to you.

Your month, and when it resets

Your allowance runs from the day of the month you signed up, not from the first of the calendar month, and it refills on that same day each month. The app shows you the date.

Unused allowance does not roll over. Anything you have not used when your month resets does not carry into the next one.

When you run out

We stop, and we tell you. New videos you share are not summarized until your allowance refills, and we email you once to say so. Nothing is charged for a video we did not summarize, and a video that fails on our side does not use any of your allowance.

There is no way to buy extra allowance mid-month. You can wait for your month to reset, or move from Free to Pro for a larger allowance. If a video is longer than your plan's single-video limit, we will not summarize it on that plan.

Payment, renewal and cancellation

Gistly Pro is sold through Google Play, and Google is the seller of record for the payment. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period — monthly or yearly, whichever you chose — until you cancel it. The price you will pay is shown in the app before you buy, in your own currency.

You can cancel at any time in Google Play → Subscriptions. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep Pro until the period you have already paid for ends.

Deleting your Gistly account does not cancel your subscription. Because Google takes the payment, only you can stop it, in the same place. Cancel there as well, or you will keep being charged.

Refunds are handled by Google under Google Play’s refund policy, not by us. This does not affect any refund or cancellation rights you have under the consumer law of the country you live in.

Changes to price or included usage

We may change the price of Gistly Pro, or what it includes, in future. Any such change applies to future billing periods — new purchases and renewals. It does not change what you are entitled to during a billing period you have already paid for. If you are on a yearly plan, the allowance you bought stays with you until your year ends.

Where the law requires us to give you notice of a change, or to obtain your agreement to it before it takes effect, we will. Google will also tell you before a subscription price change takes effect, and you can cancel rather than accept it.

Fair use of the service

The plans above are for one person’s ordinary use. Please do not share an account, resell the summaries as your own service, or use automated means to send us more work than a person could. If an account is being used that way we may limit or close it, and we will tell you why.

What we cannot promise

Some videos cannot be summarized — the owner may have restricted them, or there may be nothing for us to read. We depend on services we do not control, including YouTube and our AI provider, and they can change or become unavailable. We do our best to keep Gistly running and accurate, but summaries are generated automatically and can be wrong or incomplete. Please do not rely on one for anything important without checking the video yourself.

If a video cannot be summarized, it does not use your allowance.

Your data, and closing your account

What we collect and why is set out in our Privacy Policy. You can delete your account and everything in it from Settings in the app, or from this page. Remember to cancel your subscription in Google Play separately.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India will have jurisdiction over any dispute. If you are a consumer living elsewhere, this does not take away the protections of the consumer law of the country you live in, and you may still be able to bring a claim there.
